Lisa, update
Lisa is slowly slipping away.
She is very weak and can't even walk anymore.
I've taken leave from work to look after her and make her as comfortable as possible in these final days.
It pains me no end to see one of my dearest friends of the past (nearly) fourteen years slip away, but I know that not being here would pain me even more and I'd regret ( Read more... ) -

Infra-red control
After a shitload of fiddling, trying, re-trying, re-compiling, re-soldering, et al, I finally can use the remote control of the digital amplifier to control Xine (my desktop PC's multimedia/video player). It can skip chapters (even those annoying ones that you can't skip with a normal DVD player, mwhuhaha), control and call up the menu, switch it ( Read more... ) -
