That's ridiculous. So they completely ignore all the things you've accomplished these last few years and just look at the fact that you owe them money? I hate to tell them this, but there are worse things in life than paying shipping on pet supplies. If that's the worst thing you ever do then you'll have gotten off pretty easy in life, I think.

Meh. Making deals with family can really suck sometimes. This is primarily why I'd rather starve and have my car repossessed than ever borrow money from my mom again.

From what I know about you, though, this is the kind of over-parenting you've had to deal with for too long anyway. Arguments with family are never fun, but perhaps it's an opportunity to assert your independence.

Sounds like you're going through a rough patch all around... which sucks because you certainly don't deserve it. Just keep taking care of yourself and stick it out. They never last as long as you feel like they will.

If/when I find a way to pay them off, I will NEVER accept financial help from them - no matter how small and no matter how strongly they offer. This is another reason that I'm ready to start MY OWN family.

Wow. It's amazing to see that your mom is still holding to the "we lend you money so now we own you" philosophy. Are you staying in Atlanta for Christmas?

I'm seriously thinking about staying in ATL for Christmas. Just avoid the drama - the presents I got for my family are at home, except for a few things I could send. Maybe my familly needs a "break" from my presence. Me and the cats can sleep in and eat takeout.
