This was delightful! I love the image of Fraser showing up at Ray's door with an armful of what everyone suggested might be appropriate apology-gifts. (Welsh! Franny! Dief!) He's so helpless in the face of Ray's righteous outrage. I love your descriptions of Ray's physicality. The over-caffeinated Shiva, the Semaphore, the restraining forefinger. Fraser frantically shaking the Val's day hearts box to make it show the right message? Precious.

And Fraser acting like a total maniac in order to impress Ray as a potential mate? Actually, I think that might be canon...

*giggle* Thanks!

It's weird, isn't it - usually it's Fraser who's got the more deft command with language, but when emotion enters the scene it's generally Ray who's got the better control, and Fraser kind of freaks out. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this - describing Ray is always a hoot. ;)

i'm with js. i was doing pull quotes at first, but i had to stop because i was copying EVERY OTHER LINE. i love your ray-voice, it's so very...RAY. so off-kilter funny, and fierce and annoyed. it's PERFECT. and the gestures! you've captured his physicality so effectively, that i can actually SEE HIM.

and aw, fraser! i'm with keerawa, i think this IS canon. and i love his uncertainty and TOTAL LOOPINESS, also completely in character...

this made me very happy, and i'm still snickering as i write this. and now i'm going to run back and read it again. :)

Thank you kindly!

I found Fraser such fun to write when he's the one who's baffled, while Ray's in control (more or less). In the episodes it appears as though when Fraser cracks, he really cracks, so it's a kick to run with that.

I'm so glad you liked this so well! Yay!

That was chock full of RayK/Fraser goodness. You've really nailed Ray. The Shiva line is the best of many. Thanks so much for sharing this.

And thank you!

Sharing was my pleasure! Outraged Ray really was rather amusing to write. Hee.

Firstly, YAY! because it's You and I haven't seen you around for yonks and I've missed you *hugs Brig tightly and frets she's been away for so long*. Secondly, how the hell do you get a Mystrey Croissant? It either is, or it isn't. And apple = yum, but I am rather with you in preferring ham and cheese...

And you still have The Power of Fic over me. You could write European law on the average turnip consumption of Suffolk and I'd still think you were the best. The Shiva line was truly inspired.

Still here, Ducks! *hugs you back* Just been sort of luuuurkin' about.

Awfully glad you enjoyed the ficcy! Wasn't it nice of Nos to have a birthday handy to inspire us?

You know, Fraser probably knows all about European law on the average turnip consumption of Suffolk. Of course, if he tries to talk about it, Ray will probably smack him in the head.

Mystery croissant - see, usually they put a little piece of the filling on top of the croissant when they cook it; ham, apple, spinach & feta, whatever, but this batch they forgot to mark a bunch of them, so, mystery croissants. Oh dear.
