Oh, this is gorgeous. I'm oddly fond of Janet - there's clearly more to Weevils than is obvious. And the thought of Janet in the cells when the Hub went ... Well, it's good to think of Jack rescuing her, retroactively.

"Janet's whistling now is closer to crooning, resembles a mother's lullabies to her young sons, evokes the whispers of stars as they slowly spin, die, and are born." This is lyrical, and comforting, and just exactly what Jack needs.

Thank you. I didn't like the idea of Janet dying either! That and her canonical whistling for grief (and thinking "after Jack/gravity, Jack/Janet maybe isn't that far out") made the plotbunny bite.
