I thought R should be manageable. I'm amazed - I've read 60% of the books, and 100% of the authors listed. Yay me! (I've read other novels by Dickens and Eliot).

I own a copy of Bleak House, because an HP friend whose opinion I respect recommended it very highly. But you are right, it is intimidatingly long, and also has a slow start, I have not been able to get into it yet...

I really liked Bleak House when I first read it as an undergrad. Liked it so much, in fact, that I recently reread it and enjoyed it again. I'm in the process of rereading Broliai Karamazovai, but it's going slowly (speaking of intimidatingly long...). Hopefully I'll finish it soon and then try reading something new. Not sure what yet...

Do you remember liking Vanity Fair?
