I think, you know, he went out once because he just needed something other than what was coming, with no idea what they'd find in Atlantis, so if it's go again with no idea again, or never go, he's going to go.

Oh, I loved this story - the character development was great, as was the idea of Ronon hooking up with the Travelers on his own, and it makes a lot of sense to me that Rodney would stay behind (I also see him doing that post-series). Actually, in a lot of ways this was more satisfying and believable than what actually happened! I also like the note of uncertainty at the end, with neither of them quite sure what their future holds.
