Don't give up hope, Tieria. It's okay to be sad.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut in and ask you to stop.

Why?

Because it's dangerous to have her thinking she controls the world.

Thinking she what?

That's what you said, isn't it? Chance events ending up in her favor, things working for her that don't work for others.

I was considering the possiblity of some kind of unconscious quantum probability manipulation.

...which would give her the power to control the world, wouldn't it?

What is she?

I could feed you a line about simply not wanting you to give ideas, as she can come up with plenty of unusual ideas on her own, but... I think you've figured out a little too much for that.

First of all, I need your word you'll never tell her anything about it.

What about the lock? Can't she see this?

I traded someone a good amount of caviar for unhackable codes a little while ago. We're perfectly safe.

Unhackable...?

If you say so. Then yes, I swear on... I swear I shall not tell a single person.

Thank you. The Doctor and Donna know, by the way, as do Dr. Cuddy and Kyon-kun.

To be completely honest, no one is exactly sure what she is. Depending on the point of view you're coming from, she could be a blip in the space-time continuum, an explosion in the data of the universe, or even a god. What you were correct about, however, is that she can unconsciously bend the universe to her will.

...and this is Haruhi we're talking about? Haruhi Suzumiya?

Of course, unless the subject of our conversation changed at some point when I wasn't paying attention.

When it's something this serious, it doesn't hurt to be sure.

How do you know all this?

Because about three years ago, Suzumiya-san caused a massive explosion of change in the world. She wished for aliens, time travelers, and espers to exist, and so they came into being. I am what is called an esper; I can read her moods somewhat, and take care of some... problems that her powers cause. I simply woke up one day knowing all this, basically.
