Tango died today. He reached a grand old age of 14; pretty good for an Airedale. One of the last few dogs alive to have known Vicki Hearne. He belonged to my good friend Randall, who taught me everything about training dogs. I spent much of the day cleaning my apartment, which was shabby. In particular, the bathroom needed some serious scrubbing, and the kitchen table was essentially just a mountain of junk mail and magazines dating back to last winter. Um, heh. I'm not very good at living, yet ( Read more... )

Disneyland and Rifftrax live was awesome. The longest we had to wait for any ride was 20 minutes, and that was for the Finding Nemo submarine ride! Space Mountain at night was only 10 minutes! I remember waiting for HOURS for that ride as a kid. Go recession ( Read more... )

Today I gave my guinea pigs a bath. It was their first bath ever! After a brief period of alarm when the water first hit them, Frodo and Sam relaxed and appeared to enjoy it. They even tolerated being blow-dried.

Okay, so... My horse is doing pretty damn well, no more wounds, wraps, etc. I had to be out there every day for awhile there because she needed to be wearing hoof boots 24/7 because of a bad trim job, but since I got a new trimmer and she's had time to grow some foot, she's doing much better and doesn't need the boots anymore. Ah, "weekends." I slept in today, gloriously. Then I read Vicki Hearne while I ate breakfast to set my head straight, and went to the barn to spend time with Nena.
