There is an unopened packet of chocolate digestive biscuits sitting on the desk in front of me. It's not mine. I'm quite hungry, but I don't have my pass with me, so it's going to be tricky to get back from the canteen.

I'm doing my best to pretend the biscuits aren't there.

People at my work bring in chocolate biscuits all the time. I have the advantage that I work in the Oxfam shop and so the people who bring in the biscuits are usually so old they have diabetes and can't actually eat the biscuits... So I get them! Sometimes working for Oxfam is like going to my grandmother's for tea! :-D

Well that's not helping me much, is it?

Sorry, I was in an anecdotal mood.

You could just eat them and then when asked about it you can claim that you were saving someone's blood sugar levels... Hmm... Then you'll probably find they have the other sort of diabetes and need the sugar or they'll die...

Well, presumably whoever owns the biscuits will have their pass on them, so will more easily be able to go to Tesco to buy some more.
If I leave, I'll have trouble getting back in again.

No!

I bought a Double Decker from the canteen on my way out, but because it came from the fridge, it was somewhat tricky to eat.
