I caught the end of Desert Island Discs today while I was in the shower (the radio in the bathroom being the only one in the house that's regularly tuned to Radio 4, but that's probably extraneous information). For those unfamiliar with the concept, a famous person of some sort is inteviewed, and chooses the 8 records they'd most like to have with

I heard that; whilst not being impressed by the music, he annoyed me more than his music taste. There was an interesting discussion on the PM programme (v good - you should shower from 5-6pm) recently (about Kirsty Young taking over) about how some guests obviously have no interest in music whatsoever, and probably get their PA to choose the records. Although that doesn't explain David Cameron's choice of 'Ernie the fastest milkman in the west'...

Being in the shower at the time, I couldn't quite make out all his words. But it is interesting that a programme that was originally meant to discover what music its guests held dear has turned into something else.
