Woo! I share that person's birthdate!

*ahem* When I turned 18, I didn't register to vote right away for the same reason: I didn't know how. my ignorance cost me my first chance to vote for president too. wah. I was shy and ignorant about all things political then. (still shy, just not so ignorant now.)

I think certain people (the majority of the population) should not be allowed to vote. No matter what age they are.

But it doesn't really matter. Nothing fucking works anyway. I had to register to vote four times before I was actually registered. And then the absentee ballot system is also a complete failure. I received two ballots, my sister never even got hers, nor did my friend Anne.

if we were educated we would not be such easy pawns for our government and others and we might actually *gasp* bring about change! now they woulldnt want that now would they? also i must admit that someone who cant figure out how to register to vote is probably not informed enough that they should be voting anyways. but thats just my opinion.

At one high school I went to, when you turn 18 (assuming you do so while in high school), you get a letter (delivered during your social studies class, I think) saying "congrats on your 18th birthday, here's a voter registration card." I thought that was cool. The college I go to, Portland Community College, has registration forms *everywhere*, especially before an election. Plus, isn't it a federal law that they have registration forms at DMV??? I think I've filled out that damn card twenty times 'cause I move so much.

That's really cool... what your high school did. :)

I'm not sure, really. I've only registered to vote once. I haven't moved since I turned 18. Actually, that's not true-- I go to college elsewhere, but I still consider myself a Portland resident and am registered to vote here, because I care a lot more about Portland than I do about Podunk, Illinois.

Yay! Rock the Vote! MTV rulzz!!!!!

Okay, seriously... I've been to NYC twice, and both times I haven't been able to visit the places I wanted to visit, because I was there with MTV-heads who just wanted to wander around Manhattan and/or *groan* sit in front of the MTV studio all day. *whine* I never even got to go to Greenwich Village. Or see any neat Big Gay Places. Woe is meeeee!!!
