Yesterday I went into Kinokuniya in search of more Transmetropolitan. I look along the volumes on the shelf... 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, ... fuck. I have volumes 0-5. How are they always missing the one volume I want? I went and asked at the information desk to see if they had it hiding away in excess stock somewhere, or if it was coming in a shipment soon, ( Read more... ) -

Today I:- Woke up way too early.
- Glared at my ATmega168 until it actually ran the code I asked it to.
- Wrote a relatively useless monad for random numbers. Realised that it was identical to the State monad.
- Did some maths homework.

Miscellany
So I haven't made any entries in a while; partly because I've been trying to finish my travel diary entries before I post anything else. That's turned out to not be such a clever idea. I have several entries sitting partly finished on my hard drive (mostly written on the plane), but they will go up later. I've had next to no time in the past month ( Read more... ) -
Everything ever
So I haven't posted in a while (bad nornagon). Sadly, that means there's going to be loads of stuff I won't remember. fuzzie and bz2 should prod me to write about all the stuff I forgot, please.
So, my stay in the Netherlands was mostly full of awesome openc2e coding. We got Creatures 2 from barely running at all to almost perfect (bar the lack of actual ( Read more... ) -
On Lua
Lua is a pretty neat language. Not for its features in terms of in-language magic (unless you consider a lack of glitzy features to be a feature in itself), but for the ease and flexibility with which it can be embedded.

As I write this I'm sitting next to fuzzie, who's tapping away at openc2e code, whee. We almost got Creatures 2 physics working.
Norway was most excellent. Flew into Oslo airport and it was snowing outside; magical! Having never seen snow before (well, not since before I can remember), this was something of a novelty. holmen did not share my sentiments, ( Read more... )
