It was totally inevitable when it happened. There are already three different novels and a comic book series about the wartime adventures of Captain America, and Thor is literally straight out of a storybook. Half the things the tabloids write about Tony Stark, they should have just marketed as shameless fiction in the first place. And, really. So Darcy gets to watch as the inevitable unfolds. It’s like a total Greek tragedy. She likes to think she’s good at the internet game but she knows there's no stopping a meme once it gets started. The Darcy Lewis prompts start rolling in, and there's no way all of these are Loki. There's a section on the del.icio.us page dedicated to her, and the Darcy/Black Widow ship becomes the default for femslash prompts. Darcy Lewis is the default victim of the week when a fic needed a mission - Darcy's been kidnapped! Are you a bad enough dude to rescue Darcy?

Darcy tries to stem the tide, but there's not a thing she can do. And she knows she's beat when she sees people prompt just "Darcy". No one has to clarify "Darcy Lewis" anymore - when you prompt "Darcy", everyone knows who you meant. Darcy is clearly doomed, so there's only one thing to do - sit back and enjoy the ridiculous dirty stories people write about her.

Rule one of the kink meme, Loki sends her one day. Loki is everyone's mother. Everyone's.

There's been a lot of "Loki's kids" prompts in the past few days. Darcy kind of likes the prompts where Director Fury is secretly Jormungand from the myths, or Agent Coulson is Fenrir, even if they make zero sense. Loki's been trolling those prompts extra hard. He wrote a fill which had Fury as a literal giant snake and no one noticed, but that hasn't stopped the prompts from coming.

Darcy snickers. ...Mommy? she sends back, Is that you?

Two days later, Loki is back. Rule two of the kink meme. Darcy is everyone's daughter.

Darcy has noticed a couple of "Coulson is Darcy's dad" prompts, and one AU where she's Hawkeye and Black widow's daughter. Did you do this? she sends. I'm not that much younger than everyone else. :C

Also, I'm highly amused by the idea of the Avengers finding all this nonsense, as they must eventually, someone in the government must be responsible for keeping up with potential leaks and may do keyword searches and this person would bring the meme to someone's attention...

Anyway, Thor is like... WTF BROTHERS. And then...starts to wonder. And it messes with him when he's fighting Loki.

So I can see this happening in this world, and it is fantastic.

What I really meant to say is, awesome fill and you can do anything with it you want and I can only foresee yet more awesome.

I gleefully await the day when Tony takes Darcy aside to point out that she MAY not want to reference too many insider missions in her prompts, cos if anyone is aware of the kinkmeme due to RUNNING VANITY SEARCHES ON HIS NAME, it's Tony.
