I totally agree that it's a vulnerable time for Ianto. Jack could have waited and maybe he should have. I also think Jack can't shake a part of his own background, which is: sexuality is a big part of how he relates to people. Not in the LOL!healing cock! way, but in a way that makes him feel good about himself/useful. Being a dom is part of his personality that makes him feel as if he can "rescue" other people, in a way. I think he feels it's part of his duty. He does think he knows everything, but really, he's not omniscient. :)

It's difficult, because this began as a kinkmeme prompt, and I really didn't plan to write anything more than a few comment boxes worth of smut...so, sort of going about this backwards. I could have just disregarded those but like to write in a linear way.

You have great points. I hope it's a clearer that Ianto's introduction to this, too, is long-term sexual attraction to Jack that he's been sublimating, but that he does realize he has choices. I don't think his own boundaries are really great yet; he finds Jack dangerous enough to be exciting --- he gets off on that --- but he realizes Jack is also fond of him and not interested in abusing his trust.

I loved Ianto's inner conflict over whether or not to follow Jack's instructions and be waiting for him. I also loved the way Ianto used his safeword and how Jack took care of him after.
I nearly died of happiness when Ianto flipped the lights back on and submitted to Jack willingly at the end.

One of the strongest aspects of this fic is how it still hasn't jumped straight to the actual sex act yet, instead delving into the internal features of the character's minds - what they're feeling, what they expect, what they fear - while allowing the sexual tension to ebb and surge naturally.
