heat wave!

Nov 10, 2009 10:45

It's been over 25 here for the last 4 days, and it's a bit of a shock.

Salads, yoghurt breakfasts (with the lovely stuff from the Tamar Valley Dairy, made by the awesome Archie Matteo), and smoothies as far as the eye can see.

What happened to my coffee addiction? Very odd.

I have no sympathy - we're in day 2 of 5 days in a row of 39.

"Spring? Sorry, all I've got is this express delivery of Summer."

Ah well, I talked to my sister Katherine in Auckland yesterday, and she was complaining that it's 14 and wet and she wants the rain to stop and Summer to hurry up. I think phones need a 'sibling slap' option.

Oh, and I thoroughly recommend iced coffee, with lots of ice.

After hearing tales of extreme weather around the country, I'm really appreciating our very mild, temperate, coastal weather.

We're going to be in Tassie next week so we'll get to experience this "heat wave" for ourselves. I think it will be a welcome relief after coming through Melbourne where the temp is tipped to be 35 deg on the weekend.

Good luck in Melbourne... Remember the SPF 30+ here though, the sun can be insanely intense here.

I'm going to Savage on the nights of the 16th and 17th, and will be home on the afternoon/evening of the 18th. Other than that, we're expecting you and the bedroom is ready to go.

Cool. We're catching up with one of the guys that the CPD has worked with at Burnie on Wed 18th, so Thurs 19th is looking like when we'd be coming through your neck of the woods if that works for you. I'm looking forward to meeting the kids :)

I love the Tamar Valley Dairy range of yoghurt... I would like it more if I could get it in 1L packs up here... Going to have to go hunting harder I think!

Count yourself lucky that you can get any at all. Their total daily production is less than 12 tonnes.
