having houseguests sure is fun. it gives me a reason to have barbeques every night and stay up late playing mario party

so we travelled six hours down south to fukuoka to where amy's family lives. we speak little japanese, they speak littler english, so we get along pretty well. half the time we have no idea what is going on or where they are taking us, but the element of suprise is pretty awesome. we're sleeping on the tatami floor, japanese style. her uncles ( Read more... )

thursday was my 18th birthday. amy and i went to dc for the weekend, which was pretty awesome. the museums are free, and the people we met were very nice. the stores can't sell beer past 10pm, and everything closes very early. we partied like gospel singers.

this time next month i should be in japan

i had a wonderful week with amy. it was full of beer, bonding, and a family reunion. i love the middle of nowhere, our quaint little house with a room lacking possessions, and mola the bull skull. boating, fishing, and swimming in the lake, as well as sitting around a fire, drinking with some strangers, who are bound to become friends. playing pool ( Read more... )

today was a reminder of how much i love scrabble, and asian guys.

thanksgiving was nice, cooking was fun, and the weekend was a little bit better than good. non productive but pleasant, a little strange yet nice.
