Great job, Becky! Love the parallels between the two of them - the shared experiences allowing them a kind of intimacy they could have with no one else. Not false, just...isolated if that makes sense. Really enjoyed it!
Found it through the SU Herald -- the pairing intrigued me. Gunn deserves serious ink, and I'm so glad you gave him some!
Great insights into both characters -- especially Lindsey's assessment of why each of the other team members were ready to die to fight the Senior Partners.
I planned on going out fighting because just once I’d like to be a hero and see what it felt like. Perfect -- because as I see it, that was Lindsey's quest all along. Great stuff.
The only one who might get out of this in one piece was Lorne, but somehow I doubted that he wouldn’t be tainted too. ::sniffle:: Such a great idea - Gunn who used to be so heroic, fighting the ‘good fight’, upholding the ideals and then his meeting someone he’d become, namely Lindsey. Really liked how you wrote their interaction, particularly Lindsey’s very apt remarks on the situation and how Gunn might be able to deal with his feelings. And the slightly uplifting ending, sorta. “I don’t know how to fix things.” Poor Gunn :(
