Alas poor Yorick!

I was thinking, and i kind of want to tell you about Australopithicus robustus, my friend the skull here. I would say i knew him, but not only did i find the picture on google, but he's also, like, 1.8 million years old. That's old. And as it turns out, he was like, an evolutionary dead end. We are not descended from A. robustus, they were like ( Read more... )

We should be huge nerds and converse on this. Why? Because we can, dammit.

No kidding. I could say really smart stuff about it, too. That is, if i didn't spend all hour in prehistory today daydreaming what it would be like to live with primitive humans. I pictured myself among them, in various situations. My thoughts were on the order of,

"hmm, this is what it would be like if i had only modern sharp objects, like a sword or a machete. I could still own them."

"Discounting such things as 'foreign' bacteria and me not being able to drink the water, wouldn't it be crazy if THEY were more capable of surviving in that time than me?"

"Would i be a god, or would they laugh at my pale lack of hair, and handaxe me?."

"Would i wear clothes?"

It could be like that disney flick 'The Road to Eldorado'...They'd make you their God and worship you and give you gold and shit and you could run around with a scantily clad native woman and everything...as far as whether or not you would wear clothes while doing all this well...you do come from the nudist capital of Iowa...

Yeah but nobody knows what song you're talking about if you say 'The Bad Touch'. Everybody knows it as the discovery channel song. Well...That's how I know it...And I'm the Omnipotent Lord Queen of the universe so we go by what I decree. Which is that this so called 'bad touch' business will be referred to as: "Discovery Channel"...Cuz I said so...So there...

P.S. neato Yorick reference Adam...*sigh* Alas poor Yorick and his under-evolved zygomatic arches...

Yeah, this is reply to both scott and angi, i wondered about that. I didn't even know who sang it, so i searched for "discovery channel" on kazaa and found a couple named "the bad touch." i figured that that was probably the real name of the song, but no, i didn't think anybody would get it.

No bones about it. not_newton February 12 2004, 11:08:24 UTC
This does have to do with zygomatic arches, cause i'm gonna get cheeky! (i have a bone to pick with you, miss) Where do you get off not coming with? I've been working my fingers to the bone this week just so that i can go and not fail school, i think a little effort on your part is called for. If this is one of those 'my mom wouldn't let me' things, then you need to rethink mother daughter relations. Show some backbone. Or you could compromise, like, throw her a bone and do the dishes for a week, or two or ten, so that you can come. It's not like you're gonna be, uh, bad to the bone... or like you're gonna go bone some guy... ok, this whole post has been unnecessary, and now it's getting worse. So... know that i don't really mean any of this. I'm pretty sure you're not hurt, though. Sticks and stones...

80's music makes me happy. "But I do wish our tastes could evolve...to my tastes..." That just made my day! Also, something slightly poetic and ironic for the road from the movie Breathless:
-"What is your ambition?"
-"To become immortal, and then die."

Ah! I need to have many many children, with other non-80's music people, to spread my evolved tastes around.... maybe, just maybe i can stop this 80's thing. I fear (or hope...) that this goal is equal in magnitude to the immortal thing.

Really though, that quote is clever, i like it (I'm not REALLY as uncultured as my "or hope..." makes me sound). Muchas gracias.
