Just to prove...once again...what a big, old history nerd I am, the story in the New York Times about the discovery of a huge hoard of Anglo-Saxon artifacts in Staffordshire made me giddy with excitement. Viewing the photos of the items in the find made me positively swoon. Oh, the delicious questions about its origins and the long-hidden messages

Dang...lucky her. But she wouldn't appreciate it as much as I would have. Having stay-at-home remorse here.

By the way, history nerd question: Who was Temudjin's older brother. Dage has challenged my history nerdiness, with the reward being a week's stay at his sea-side cabin near Vexala, Finland. You can come share with me. He said no fair consulting Google, but he didn't say no fair consulting another history nerd. >:-)
