OH GOSH. Where to start?
Firstly, Sherlock obviously really dislikes him and just looooves to wind him up, but it's not hate. It's born out of the fact that Mycroft seems to do everything better than him, and the fact that he's so smug about it. It grates on his nerves. He hates being looked down upon, as well, and Mycroft keeps referring to his cases as trivial. That really irritates him...partly because he'd at least like Mycroft to recognise his genius, dammit. Also, he hates Mycroft's insistence on watching him. He can look after himself. (Lol, as if

Okay, okay, so he has respect for Irene. Which is...big. He doesn't respect many people, especially not women, but he loves a challenge. He's furious with himself for not figuring her out, but IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. >[
Okay. It might. It depends.
He doesn't think of her as a friend because he doesn't trust her as far as he could throw her, but that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy her company. He wouldn't confide in her or go to her for help, but he has a good time around her, which is very strange indeed. Of course, she can get on his nerves royally.
Also? He can't begin to understand why she has- in his mind- wasted herself on putting away the criminal career and getting married. xD

Aha, he actually kind of likes her? Doesn't trust her (or anybody apart from a certain jumper-wearing doctor), quite enjoys trying to mess with her head-- and tolerates her company to an astonishing extent. (Oh, Sherlock. Only with him would this be a compliment.)
He likes her banter 8D She's quite amusing, and not someone people would normally expect him to get on with, which kind of makes her more appealing. He likes to flout norms.
Oh, and she's a good downstairs neighbour. Anyone that doesn't complain about the severed heads and shouting and gunshots is alright by him. xD
I haven't played with your Irene yet, so I can't say for sure, but. If we take this as being after the scandal in the Czech Republic... ;)
Sherlock HATES to be beaten. So she irritates him awfully, but he also has respect for her brainpower. It still doesn't mean he likes her much. But. He has her picture (or the equivalent- one Irene I've played with gave him a tape). And she does stick in his mind as exceptional.
Shirley here definitely isn't keen on women, which is part of the reason he was ever bettered by her in the first place; he underestimated her entirely. It also makes the fact that she's so good at what she does shine a little brighter.
