Huma's record release party was last night, at a club/bar place on Ludlow street in Manhattan. I played trumpet for one of their songs, and the walls of the room were painted like a jungle. Through the window, you could see the roof of the building, on which there was a model giraffe and gorilla.

Yeah...complications:
The show was right up against the deadline of my Targum issue (today), so I didn't know until Friday that I'd be able to go at all. Also, their singer suggested I ride with them there, because the venue is 21+. So, for all I knew, the people at the venue were very strict about not letting any of us young'uns in except those that were playing in the band. But hopefully, it won't be the last time I play with them. I'll keep you posted.

Around here dodgy characters kick em around the streets. So it could be.

you're right; geezers need excitement.
bugles are great - all the passion of a trumpet without the fuss of valves.
p.s. - a woman from England tried to explain to my friends and I what a geezer is, and "dodgy" was the first word she used that we understood. Hence the connection.
