It's windy again

It's been windy beforeThe thing is, we're pretty used to it. We're high, it's windy down low, so super windy up here. There are many days it's only advisable to go out on the balcony for "windswept fun" (ie, not for pleasure ( Read more... )

That photo, and your descriptive text both get the point across. Eep! Stay safe, and have fun riding the wave. Remember - it's better that your building IS so bendy. Flexible is good.

oh I'm painfully aware that moving is much, much better than not. It's the "hmm, how well did they test their models", and "how much tolerance did they allow for" that starts to wander through my mind..

plus, getting seasick when all I'm trying to do is sit and work doesn't help *laugh*

So, all in all, the perfect warm-up for a trip to Wellington, wouldn't you say? ;D

Okay, totally terrified of the idea of being in a tall building during any windy weather ever now. Our bamboo privacy screens got a bit ripped up, but I'm sure glad we aren't any higher than the 3rd floor!

How many floors up are you?

The post he links to says he's somewhere about 40 floors up...

You wouldn't catch me that far up in this town (Wellington NZ), Melbourne maybe, as it doesn't have the geological instability this town is well known for. I didn't think wind was a big problem in Melbourne either (it certainly wasn't noticeable when I lived there in 1966).

FWIW I recall having floor to ceiling venetian blinds moving like that once on the sixth (top) floor in Wellington, but that was when we had a 4.5 quake about 40km deep 30km away and the building was on reclaimed land...

Holy Cow!

You & Gala must both be Air Signs (Aquarius, Gemini, or Libra) because this Virgo Earth Sign girl would be digging a hole in backyard by now & seriously burrowing into it. *laughing*

Hang on!

If you go for that stuff (personally, I don't), he's Taurus, like me...

No Way! OK, Taurus is an Earth Sign. How he manages being up 40 floors.. not to mention that wind.. boggles my mind. Still, Si being a Taurus does make sense in regard to his methodical, systematic approach to all Life. Oh.. & the stubborn streak too. *grins*

I guess you wouldn't know anything about all that. :p

Nope, I wouldn't know a thing about that, nothing at all, honest! Why I hardly know the guy...
