a very long time ago, i had this friend. this friend and i and a few others had plans for a big night. when the night came, i waited and waited to picked up, and no one came. i asked the friend why he would have done this and hurt me so much, and his explanation was "I just didn't think about it."

The nature of humans is to care for themselves first, like a survival instinct that has mutated us into some kind of greedy selfish pigs. It's tough for people to try to get into other people's minds, make that kind of intimate emotional connection. "I just didn't think about it" honestly is... just being human. Not saying it's not hurtful, but more likely than not he really didn't have any malicious intent behind those words.

yea, you're right. i guess i expect too much sometimes. its just that i always really try to put everyone over myself, so i don't see it as something that should be that hard, and it makes me expect it in return.
