[ Action : Olney's Tavern : Open ]
[ If you're a regular at the bar, you might notice a new sigth in one of the stools. A tall red-haired Chinese woman in a plain green dress is making herself right at home, even if the drone workers don't particularly care about serving her anything other than weak, fruity, feminine drinks ( Read more... )

[Marisa hasn't been seen for over a week now. Not even a hint of her since a few days after that phone call about the dead drone. She wouldn't have bothered with this, except the sound of that key constantly trying to open the door has grated on her nerves and the whispers from her curse refused to let her keep ignoring it.

But no... no, she couldn't just answer the door. Instead, she pokes her head out her window - the glass in it broke days ago - to call down.]

Go home.

[Her voice is raspy and strained, dark circles under her eyes and she's very pale. Almost like she's sick...]

I'm trying! [ Comes the somewhat sluggish reply. Meiling is kneeling on the doormat now, one hand on the door, the other caaaarefully navigating the key toward the lock with a critical eye on it. ] Come on... stupid... thing...

[Okay, it's about 2 AM, and there has been noise at the front door for about ten minutes. Sakuya sighs, throws on her robe, and walks to the door...oh god. There is only one explanation for this, and she doesn't even need to smell the booze on Meiling's breath to figure it out.]

...you're drunk and on my doorstep at 2 AM. What is this nonsense about?

[ You're going to have to speak up because all Meiling can do is stare (but it's a legitimate reason!) ] Uh...

[ Translation: Okay, Sakuya is standing in my house in a robe. I cannot be this lucky. Just what the hell is going on here? ]

Did you not hear a word I said? Meiling. You are at my doorstep at 2 AM, and you are clearly inebriated. What are you doing here?

[At least she doesn't take her knives to bed with her. That should be some consolation.]

[ Meiling straightens up with a start. ] Ah! I am--! I mean--! I won't--! [ She looks back and forth from the key to the plate on the door and just sighs. ] I did it again...

[ A huge armor clad figure stares down at the red-haired person on his lawn. He clears his throat pointedly. ]

Is there something I can help you with, mamzel?

Whoa... [ She blinks up at the figure, vision a bit blurry. ] Mistress, the suit talked! [ Thinking it was one of the empty armor suits on display at the mansion back home. Someone was preeeetty toasted. ]

[ The suit kneels by her, and removes it's head... or rather helm, revealing a freckled, craggy face framed by blond hair that tends just slightly towards silver, and grey eyes about the color of rain. He speaks, his voice still deep enough to rattle someone's chest, even without the amplification of his helm ]

You are drunk, Mamzel. And I do not believe your mistress is here. Do you require assistance?

Oh, there was a person inside of it the whole time! That must be why we have to keep it clean... [ Since otherwise, what was the point of maintaining armor no one wore? ] My name's not Mamzel, though.. it's Meiling!

[ You could even say it's her place! Except that's only wishful thinking on her part. Grass is comfortable, though that rock she just rolled onto wasn't. ] Mrrr, who put that there?

[Meiling shifts her hand under her and tosses the rock away rather hard. Hopefully it doesn't hit anything important...]

Ow. . .

[He was so distracted at how cute she looked in the flowers that he didn't notice the rock until it hit his toe. He sets it in a spot in the garden.]

[ Meiling rolls over again and blinks up. ] --rocks don't say "ow". [ She stretches and sits up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. ]

Nor does she, really. ] I'm trying to get inside! That's what doors are for, aren't they?
