Later in the afternoon, once Janet's clinic shift was done, she knocked on Angel's door to check up on him again.

"Flaily Pretty boring," Angel said, motioning for Janet to feel free to make herself comfortable. "Slept through most of it."

"Boring is probably the best thing," said Janet, coming in and sitting down cross-legged in the first convenient spot. "It's certainly better than my weekend; I've been medicating my severe lack of internet time migraine away since Friday afternoon. So you didn't actually do much of anything this weekend?"

"Mostly stayed in bed," Angel said. "Had some visitors. Sorry about your headache. Need, uh, aspirin or anything?"

Janet smiled. "I've got migraine meds in my room, but thanks for the offer," she said. She gave Angel an appraising look, trying to determine how healthy and well-rested he actually was compared to how he said he was. "It's pretty much died down by now."

Angel looked rested. Maybe a little worn around the eyes, but rested. "That's good. Did you - uh - make it to the play?"

There might have been a hint of too-innocent curiosity there.

"Not with a migraine, I didn't," said Janet dryly. "Remind me to hit you on the head with a sledgehammer a few times when you're well so you can understand what it feels like. So do you want to tell me what happened, or do you want me to start asking around?"
