Later in the afternoon, once Janet's clinic shift was done, she knocked on Angel's door to check up on him again.

Her instincts were telling her there was more to the story. She often listened to those instincts. Besides, it was kind of fun to make Angel slightly uncomfortable.

"Well I'm mostly bored and wish I could get out of the room," Angel said, "but otherwise I guess I'm fairly happy."

Janet raised an eyebrow. "And yet somehow I get the feeling that's not what you initially meant."

Because, really, seeing someone squirm was so much fun.

"No, I knew that a long time a - I mean I didn't do much," Angel said. "Just sat there. Even when the lights went out and all the other handwaved stuff happened."

"Hungrier than you think you are?" asked Janet. "What do you mean?" Since Angel seemed to feel awkward, she kept her voice even and light.
