"What kind of situation was it that you'd define it as a non-blood situation?" asked Janet. "And what do you define as a blood situation?" Her voice was still calm, possibly just lightly impartial and inquisitive. She really did need to know these things to understand what Angel was saying.

"Blood situation would be... blood," Angel shrugged. "I'm drinking from a mug, or - or there's a fight and a lot of it's being spilled. That kind of thing. Non-blood would be like you and me talking right now. Nothing getting the emotions pumped up. No smells to trigger me. Nothing."

"Angel, I'm not worried because you were thinking about blood in a situation where you normally wouldn't," said Janet. "Especially for such a short period of time." She pursed her lips, thinking. "Is there any other sort of occasion that you might categorize as a blood situation?"

"None?" asked Janet mildly. He seemed awfully closed-off right now. "I'm guessing that your system may want more blood so that it can repair the damage the poison did."

"I might have been thinking about blood in a non-blood situation. For a second! Less than a second! A secondlet!"
