I've always wondered what makes people interested in the things they're interested in. Why do certain colors and styles appeal to certain people? While I'm sure a lot of it can't be precisely pinpointed, it's still fun to think about. On Saturday night Megan and I went to the Green Project's 24 hour Drawathon and... It was amazing! I know I'm not going to do a good job describing it but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. So it turns out that the guy who runs Pharoah's Cave in the quarter is also an editor of Meena magazine. Their website says The word "meena" means port, or port-of-entry, in Arabic, and that is exactly what we would like Meena to be: a port between our cities, our countries, our languages, our cultures. Why is it that I always manage to find cool musicians who's material is hard to get? I found Fatima El Shibli on Myspace but she haveth not a CD! What is that? I want a CD!

Yesterday Megan and Uma and I went to Le Chat Noir to see The New Orleans Bingo! Show.  Le Chat Noir is this swanky little place downtown where we felt quite out of place amongst the people in their nice button-up shirts and little evening dresses. Contact Intro

This is one of my all time favorite intros to one of my all time favorite movies. I remember telling somebody once that even if something terrible happens tomorrow and the whole of humanity is destroyed, at least our news and nonsense are blasting through space at the speed of light.

I just got back from visiting family in Kansas and Oklahoma. The trip wasn’t nearly as boring as it usually is because we actually got to go places and do things. My dad and his parents took me to an Oklahoma history museum in Oklahoma City and got to see all sorts of local kids’ shows and radio programs that my dad remembered from childhood.
