Just got back from this week's work trip (there has been unusually much travel for me lately), up to Madison WI. Weather was screwed up across the midwest today, leading my flight out of Madison (to ORD) to be delayed by 4 or 5 hours, meaning I quite likely would've ended up stranded in ORD for the night. An unemployed friend just called my cell phone, to return a message I left 3 days ago. When I said "thanks, but I'm at work right now", he replied "Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was the weekend."

"Senseless" doesn't even begin to describe this one
My mom alerted me to the following news of the weird from my hometown movie theater (about 15 minutes from my family's house). This is simply a WTF moment, odd even for the increasingly mean streets of Owings Mills. A separate MapQuest survey identified Washington as the fourth-hardest city to escape, after Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York. Clevelanders might be happy to know that their city is the easiest to flee.

Biking
So, today I did something that I'd been wanting to try for a long time -- biked to work. No, not all the way from home to Reston, though it actually was about half that far.
