i'm pretty much all set with tehPARADOX and mobilism for my fiction needs. if something is particularly hard to find (or when i'm looking for textbooks for school), i peruse this reddit thread for sources.

I use booktrail and v50 for book downloads :D there's also iheartlibrary which is less active but may have some different books.

Idk of places to download books to keep, but if you have a library card your local library probably has lots of books to check out and it's usually pretty simple to do so.
