I'm rather fond of the things, even when they're at that stage of just eating, puking, crying and shitting.
I'm quite happy to hold, feed and get vomited on. I draw the line at changing, there are some chores that I just can't deny the parents :)
Karen is not quite so keen... When I say not quite so keen I mean she's really not very fond of the things... when I say not very fond...

All said if you're in our area we are not going to deny you a cup of tea and biscuits. Quite frankly if you're in our neck of the woods you've probably got enough problems ;)

I'd say screw preferences; the baby is/will be part of your family and *in the main* you shouldn't have to go out of your way to leave her behind to keep third parties happy.

But obviously this is tempered by the fact that I do like babies and she can come anywhere we are :)

The way I see it is that I wouldn't take my Mum along with me if someone didn't like my Mum.

I wasn't going to name names, but just in a case you're feeling paranoid, Charlie is, of course, one of the exceptions who I absolutely adore and will always be pleased to see.

I've never really had the "broody" thing - for me having a child has always been a lifestyle choice, more of the brain than the heart or hormones. I'd be really interested to hear what broody feels like if you'd ever care to explain it.
