exile suggests a home from which one is cast out gray man is more complicated

breathing is a risk. opening your eyes towards the sun is a risk, so is keeping them closed.

The gray man is less complicated than he would like to think.

Are you saying that if everything is a risk, one might as well fight?

the green man would be easier, just burn him for the summer, problem solved until spring returns.

everyone is fighting some just more than others
a conscripted army is still a military body

But then you're back in the same situation come spring. It would be nice to resolve things once and for all.

Some people don't want to remember, though. They're content to stay here, and never do anything to fight back.

Then I would say complacency is your worst enemy. Never stop questioning.

Food for thought? They eat spiders some places, I hear.

Filthy things, spiders. I can't say I'm a fan.

A war.

...To discuss this so plainly over the journals, you're either brave or foolish.

Call me what you wish. I just think people are entitled to rather more information than they're given.

Which you are remains to be seen, so I'll withhold judgment for now. I can't say I disagree with you.

But a war for what cause? It cannot be over territory or politics, I assume, since there is little of either here.

One wants to move on, while the other would rather remain stagnant.

These are strong words. To call this situation we are in a war... It is a strange war we are fighting, if we are at all. Who is the opponent?

I don't understand what these words are meant to accomplish, but there may be many angry people who did not need the reminder of everything they have lost.

if they do not need the reminder they don't need the eyes they use to see the world with either

Do you like being reminded that you've lost all of your most important memories but one?
