Selective Canon

Being a geek is so much easier when you choose to pretend the crap in certain series never happened and selectively edit them from your memory. In my mind, there was a Highlander movie. It was awesome. I often wonder why they never made a sequel. Star Wars prequels? That would be cool if George Lucas ever made any more movies but he ( Read more... )

Ugly Betty was a great show. Then the writers strike prevented any new episodes from being made for 2 years. Now it's back with a final season where the storyline is getting wrapped up. And hey, in the meantime Betty discovered hair conditioner!

Also, it's too bad that BSG ended when they found that ruined planet, but really, where could they go from there but down?

I remember two seasons of the New BSG. It sucks because the second season left off on such a great cliffhanger, but at least them ending it there made it end before they got tempted to start having relationship crap between Apollo and Starbuck.

The Doctor has never had a romantic relationship with any of his companions, ever.

The Merlin books ended on an odd note when Merlin and Luke take acid in a bar. They come to, briefly, much later to resolve things with Mask and discuss thier hallucinations about sentient squiggles and magic rings.

The X-men comic ran until the mid-80s, then ceased publication until Grant Morrison picked it up for a run that he never quite finished. There were never any spin-offs, other than the short-lived New Mutants title.

Yeah, it was too bad that Morrison didn't finish his run. That Xorn guy was the best new superhero in ages. I am sure the run was going to show more of what a great role model he could be for young mutants.
