The linguistic analysis at the end leads me to this question: Why is it talmid hakham (`Ivrit Mizrahit) and then lo signov (Ivris Ashkenazis)?

Because I screwed up. I think it's consistent now, but let me know if you catch anything. I like using Ivris Ashkenazis in these tales because it just seems more Yeshivish. I'm trying to poke fun at the extreme interpretations of certain ideas (let me know if I've succeeded or if I just come across as nuts :)) that seem to crop up every so often in the Yeshivish world.

In the notes, I prefer `Ivrit Mizrahit since it more closely reflects what I would say if I were learning, say, Eruvin.

That said, I'm not entirely happy with the transliteration scheme. Accuracy in transliteration and actually readability thereof are frequently conflicting goals...

Speaking of GashlyCrumb, you have a GashlyCrumb pic. Where did you get it?

On behalf of Ashkenazis-speaking people everywhere, I hope "bisul torah" is a deliberate joke.
