It has been a long three weeks. Evan has been down in CA for work. The first week was fine even though I missed him. It was kind of like a novelty to have the house to myself and all of my time to myself. Phew.  We are leaving tomorrow morning for a trip back to Cleveland.  It may not be the most exciting vacation locale, but it will be nice to see Evan's family and to see some friends and to not work for a week.  This week has been a little bit stressful trying to keep up with the busy pace and get things done before I leave, but today shouldn't be ( Read more... )

I cut my hair. Yeah, like really cut it. I'd been kind of tempted to go back to short hair for over a year but I think I was chicken to do it until I just couldn't stand my hair anymore and had to cut it off. 37 degrees!! Yep, that's the temp outside right now. They said on the radio this morning (5:00) that it was 40 here in hillsboro and 47 in portland, but my weatherman says that it is 37 right now (7:09)!!! Wow. No wonder I felt chilly going to and from the gym ( Read more... )

The last week has been kind of tense because my grandma went on hospice on Sunday and she finally passed away yesterday morning. I guess I say "finally" because I was on edge every time the phone rang and especially if it was my mom because I was just waiting for her to tell me that grandma had died. It seems that my ladybugs have accomplished their mission and "flown away home". They were busy little eaters and in fact within one day 90% of the aphids were history. It took about a week before they'd totally finished off the job and I see a few ladybugs found homes in my other flowers, but mostly they are gone now. My rose looks a little sad ( Read more... )
