He supposed vaguely that if he so wished, he could probably stop being an envelope and be something else, but Arthur wasn't around and it was quite peaceful being an envelope really.

So inspired! And so unexpectedly sweet! I bet Arthur's card was one of those pompous, politically-correct ones with embossed lettering that wish people a 'Happy Holiday'.
