Thoughts of a victim of excessive height

Last week, Ben Goldacre posted the abstract of a paper about the history of giving oestrogen to tall girls in their teens in order to limit their growth to a more feminine height. The height-reduction paper does mention that the treatment was used on tall boys, but to a much lesser extent.

I'm sure I've read about studies that looked at effects of height on career, but I can only find this one in my bookmarks, which concludes: "Overall, tall women were rated as more intelligent, affluent, assertive and ambitious than shorter women." I wonder if this would have been true 50 years ago.
