Election
The Oxford election results were very disheartening - Andrew Smith, a Labour MP who voted very strongly for all the unpleasant things the government has introduced (ID cards, Iraq war) has kept his hold on Oxford East. I'm home from Belgium where I brought down the government went for a short holiday. The journey was no problem because my Eurostar tickets had been booked for weeks, although I felt a bit guilty to be sneaking away for a holiday while so many people were unable to get home. It's a letter to the AQA exam board and the Department for Education on how horribly politicised, dumbed-down and simply unlike Physics the new GCSE courses are. Revision is going badly.
Mike and I went to see the Manics on Tuesday. They were pretty amazing, and a good reminder that there's a world outside of the library. Even the support band (Fear of Music) were really good, and I'm left wishing that Cambridge had a better music scene. :( -

Currently doing one last spell-check/sanity-check of my MSci thesis, and then I will print it and join the great fight for having it bound. LaTeX's spell-checker is trying to sabotage my attempts: "Biomacromolecules not in dictionary. Replace with onomatopoeically?"
