So we went last night to see Bebe Neuwirth doing her one woman show - stories wit piano in Great Barrington MA. (nice theater interesting little town). We made it through 4 songs before we could not take it any more and left. I love Bebe Neuwirth. I saw Chicago on stage in NYC 5 times 3 with Bebe, she was absolutely amazing. So is every freaking actor or singer trying to get their thoughts on MJ's death in the public press? Seriously are all these people so devastated by death? I find that very hard to believe. another state sanctions discrimination
I know I should not take it personally but some how I do. When the CA supreme court ruled in favor of Prop 8 today I took it as a personal affront. Mind you I am not a resident of CA and actually was not all that fond of it the few times I have visited, yet as a lesbian, gay citizen of the land of the free I somehow feel less free. pondering
so i have all this energy but no real desire to focus it.... very odd state of being for me. i am usually very focused and task oriented but today not so much. could blame hormones i suppose but i seriously doubt they have much to do with it. i could blame the feeling of unrest i have about my relationship at the moment. i could blame finally ( Read more... ) -
wow better than i expected
so i must admit i was a bit hesitant to go see the new star trek movie but after I heard lots of good things from people who's opinions i trust we went to see it on the imax, i have to say jj abrams did a great job, it was an excellent movie overall and an excellent star trek movie on top of that, it was amazing in imax will probably go see it on a ( Read more... ) -
not as awful as i envisioned
so i must admit while a monumental waste of time sitting through commencement was not as awful as i was imagining. it took an hour for all the happy sunshine you have your whole life ahead of you speech which was great since i was expecting twice as long - evidently they did not or could not get a key note speaker (woohoo) then it took another hour ( Read more... ) -
commencement really what is the point
i have never been a fan of rituals yet by faculty contract i must sit through 3 hours or motivational speeches and names being read.... the last commencement i attended was my high school graduation in 1982. i have never been to any of my college ceremonies because i just do not see the point. ritual and tradition what purpose do they serve other ( Read more... ) -
i wish you could buy motivation in a can
OMG I am so not motivated to do any sort of school related work right now.... I need to get my summer online classes up and ready to run and I have absolutely no desire to do so. I have been pushing myself to get things graded at least but just cannot get myself up to getting the classes put together. aarrgg At least I got the yard work done today ( Read more... ) -
OMG what happened to spring
so April 25 and it was 92 degrees today.... at least is was not too humid.... Hopefully it will not be so bad tomorrow. Qor was melting today no way we will make it through the temperament test tomorrow if it is close to this hot. -
new way to waste time
so i found a new way to waste time today - looking at houses we cannot buy until we sell ours. Couple of really nice houses in good spots in our price range but alas we must sell our little shack first and that may be a challenge....
back to planning a disney trip at least that i can make reality :)
