Well boys and girls, it's time to plan another NY MegaDopefest Weekend. As several of us have discussed, we're going to move the MegaDopefest to October so that we can avoid the January weather that has plagued us when we had them in January ( Read more... )

Just kidding. I won't miss walking around the city in zero degree weather. And America tends to go so smoothly there are no interesting stories to tell.

Hm. Sadly, I think October is generally a really bad month for me (and certainly is for this year), so this may mean limited/no attendance at future NYFests. But, I'll try to keep abreast and see what's going on.

As for a cultural Saturday afternoon stint, I have to look into it way more, but I hear the new Skyscraper Museum down in BPC is really good. Might be interesting...

Some stuff going on from NYC&Co:

The Brooklyn Museum of Art has actually expanded their already vast Egyptology exhibit, if we want to do a return engagement there as part of a Brooklyn outing.

The Guggenheim will have what they claim is the most comprehensive survey of the art and culture of the Aztecs ever assembled outside Mexico. The exhibit actually opens that very Friday, the 15th, so it'll be a tricky ticket if we don't have connections (I don't). But a very high geek factor which would allow us to keep our tradition of providing something for people to talk about besides who groped whom ( ... )
