oh man, you have no idea how much i wish i had the discipline to wait till this is finished and read it straight through! at every chapter end i am so disappointed that it's over. i'm already looking forward to re reading from start to finish when it's done. not too soon though, because i am loving every minute of it!
I wish I had the discipline to sit down and just write the thing more quickly. If only I could be paid to write porn for the internets and then I wouldn't have those paltry interruptions called school and homework.
I am really glad you are following along. Having a small but loyal readership is really my favorite way to write, so I'm very happy to see everyone keeping up with this story.
It's such an interesting thing, being in Baraz's shoes. On the one hand, it's totally understandable that he would want to question Kris. On the other hand, he did it in an underhanded and sneaky way. On the other other hand, that's the only way he could do that, given Adam's protectiveness regarding Kris. Mostly I just want Baraz and Kris to get to the point where they realize they're on the same side where Adam is concerned.
Also, as I've said before, protective!Adam makes my heart go pitterpat. It's sort of ridiculous. I also love the unequal power dynamics of the fact that Adam is royalty, yet is bound to a mortal, and one who is pretty low status, as Baraz mentions. It's an interesting and unconventional situation, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it leads...
Yeah, I think Baraz is in a difficult position here. He's also from a distinctly different culture, so he just has profoundly different views on the world.
Adam has his own difficulties here as well, although the reasons for that probably won't become apparent for a while yet.
I think you're right, that the power dynamics really put up a different sort of barrier. That was part of my intention. I just wanted a story where the obstacles were of a different nature than Kris's marriage or either of their sexualities.
Wow! I just started reading your story from the beginning tonight and its amazing. Its like slash Tolkein but makes way more sense, if you know what I mean. The feelings you convey are magical. Please please continue this - I love it.
I can't remembered if I commented before, but I am still enjoying the hell out of this story! I re-read the earlier parts recently, and it is just great! A++!
