Ha! I always wonder if I'm being unfairly biased against male doctors, because I go out of my way to seek out female ones. Back home it was easier--if not as many female doctors, there were always nurse practitioners. Here it takes more effort to find female doctors, but it always seems worth it. I've only found one male doctor here that I like and would see regularly.

If you haven't already you should blog-subscribe to Science-Based Medicine. Unfortunately I think that being an alpha-male is positively endemic in MDs and that that involves giving gut-reaction diagnoses based on preconceptions of "hormones" and the like because they're all chasing zebras in an attempt to become IRL House, MD. Which is, of course, retarded, but the amount of science education that goes into making your average MD is strikingly, disturbingly low.
