Today my thoughts and prayers have been centered on relatives and friends who are likely to be affected by Hurricane Irene. May God keep all of you from every harm and danger.

I seem to have an incredibly bad sense of timing. I just got off my flight from Toronto this morning, where I was camping during lightening storms and tornado warnings, only to catch a hurricane.
Oi.

We (N.S) should fare all right, all though I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that New York,Maine, and New Brunswick will be safe and sound.

(I read that it took nearly eight hours to shut the subway in NYC. Holy crap.)

I'm sorry you had such bad weather during your camping trip. You're braver than I am; I'd have been ready to pack up after ten minutes of lightning storm!

I hope Nova Scotia does come through without damage!
