I've been reading a lot of books lately, but I have been quite taken with Libba Bray's young adult Gemma Doyle trilogy. My interest was piqued by the cover for a long time:
I really liked A Great and Terrible Beauty even though for some reason it turned me off every time I looked at it before being assigned it. Once this class is over or I have time I'm definitely getting the next books. I love that the supernatural part doesn't go all fairy and fanciful.
My only dislike is that it's making The Body of Christopher Creed that much worse and this book doesn't need any help being a drag. It was so nice to read a YA book that isn't juvenile. And now it's back to idiot kids. I'm thinking Blood and Chocolate will be as good as I remember, but need to keep my hopes from getting too high. Have you seen the movie? I've got that and don't know if I should bother with it.
Glad that thing you don't want to talk about is almost gone.
Thanks! I think I finally kicked that nasty cold. You inspired my post about this; I had been planning to write about how wonderful it was to have "Rebel Angels" with me on Thursday and how I hadn't felt that sad to finish a book in a long time, and when I read your entry, it really reminded me. It's funny, even Andrew said the cover was pretty cool not knowing what it was
