This Monday, we had a booked performer not show up for a children's program, due to some sort of scheduling mix-up. I tell you, it is not fun to deal with angry parents, including some who accosted me because I called them late last week (as instructed by my boss) to remind them about the program (we were taking registration). It's always a nice surprise when somebody you formerly thought was cool anyway reveals a whole other side to themselves. My awesome, equally bookworm sister gave me the new David Sedaris book, "When You Are Engulfed in Flames," for my birthday.
