Toulouse sits nestled in the south-west corner of France, and has some tremendous scenery right on her doorstep. Your itinerary seems quite similar to the one we took earlier in the year. We spent a couple of nights at Gavarnie and went for a hike up into the mountains and down around the cirque. It was beautiful but also quite cold. Not long after the end of the snow season. We never did get a clear view of the Cirque and the waterfall though as it remained hidden in cloud cover. Beautiful part of France.
I am also amazed that the riverside beach is open already. It was under the flood water level and must have been burried under a load of mud?
