Jan 02, 2011 01:24

I feel bad for leaving this unfinished for so many days.
So flattered that people actually came to read my review!  ;____;
My thoughts on the album is pretty solid now, just waiting to be put down on paper.  Go go go~

It's been difficult finding reviews for their album and so far I've only see yours and zerohundred's. Because the reason in part I fell for BB was the infusion of clubbeats into their music, High High and Oh Yeah are amongst my favourites too. And Baby Good Night and Don't Go Home are lazy chill songs that put best use to GTop's voices, so I love them too. Need to see them performed live ( ... )

I really want to read zerohundred's but apparently it's f-locked? So I'll jabe tp wait for her to add me back :D Maybe people find it hard to review the album because it is not very mainstream and there is a lot to digest; it is not fast food thus it does not lend itself very easily to quick "soundbite" judgements. Also, maybe because a lot of the newer BB fans (thus more active BB fans) haven't had the chance to review their albums at all for the last two years, and we are not in the habit to ( ... )

Bae's SOLAR album deserved more recognition than it did, unfortunately it's not really kpop enough by current standards. My least favourite song was You're My. Move was such an awesome song, until I heard Teddy's dirty little rap and still lol everytime I hear the song. When I first heard the album, out of the new songs, I thought INAG and Superstar would be my favs, but ultimately my favourite songs are After you fall asleep & Just a feeling, with INAG close behind (b/c of the lives and GD's bit ( ... )

I chanced upon your review of the album and it's inspired me to do my own interpretation of sorts/give my two cents worth. Granted it's nothing close to your osmness, I'd like to thank you for the extensive write-up nonetheless.

The most honourable thing possible is to instigate more thoughts, so please, don't downplay your effort, it was such an enjoyable read. :)

Well, I was debating with myself if I should or not comment in here. Anyway, here I am. I actually laughed at you 'Oh Mom = The Fuck?' not in a bad way though. I'm pretty much like this too. Speaking the truth, it was the track that actually caught my attention the most in the album. If the album didn't had 'Oh Mom' I could make up a story line just like you made in the last part of your review, but then we have this track and it's like 'WUT?' I read his interview with 10Asia and he said that it was not supossed to be in the album, so it makes some minus sense that we have this 'the fuck' impression. In the other hand, i'm glad it's there because we have a different gender among all those songs. Obssession has it's guitar riffs but it's totally different from Oh Mom. I'm intricate about the lyrics, so I might post my two cents about it in my lj later ( ... )

Oh well, typos: second line, it's your, not you. And second paragraph it's song, not songs. :)

NOooOOOOOOOoo~ no comment is ever too big. :D Hope to have a chance to read your thoughts on the album too, but apparently, your lj is f-locked? O_O

Oh Mom seems like a good piece of work, but doesn't sound as intricate or polished as the other solos, which is maybe why it has this diminishing returns effect when you listen to it for a few times.

It took me the cover version to realise this, but Obsession is actually the longest song in the album by far. All of the songs conform to the 3 minute pop song rule, but Oh Mom is 4:30 ans Obsession is a whopping 5:15... it really doesn't FEEL that long, maybe because it is telling a compelling story.

Omo, going to add you so you can read. It's locked because I don't want some of the people I know reading my stuff. I got the lyrics now so i'm going to take at least a whole day to do a good analysis. I'll get back to you when I finish it and post. :)

I agree with you in that it has this dimishing return effect, sometimes I 'jump' the track so i can hear the other ones. I feel that if I hear it too many times without a little break it'll transform in just another rock song. Sometimes i wish this song wasn't in THIS album, but in his solo album (that i hope it'll be released sometime in the century) so I could here it in a better context.

Wow, brand new information! Didn't know tthat Obssession was the longest song in the album, it definitely doesn't feel like that! It's an engaging song, tells a story, has a different feel in every part that when listened together is like 'WOW!' I love it.

I DO want so bad an MV for it. I wish they would do an solo MV for their solo songs :(
