Some good news!

Just got the funding approval for a major project I'll be running this year! This is good news, and will help settle my nerves before my year end review.

Not that I'm worried about my job, but I really have no idea what to expect for a discretionary bonus this year... I guess an extra few million in funding for my team can't hurt. *crosses fingers

congratulations! this bodes well for the future of your job, doesn't it? also, good luck on getting a bonus. i long since gave up on the possibility of a bonus; now that our stock is in the toilet, i'm just praying they don't take away my tuition reimbursement benefits. when do you find out?

I was supposed to find out by last Friday, but it got pushed off due to this big project approval presentation today, so hopefully this week.

Hopefully I'll afford this wedding!

Still good news! I'm supposedly going to be retained as an expert on the current project through 2009, not sure if I want to be though. All our internal stuff is mostly getting transitioned offshore (including the PMs).

What would you be doing if not this project?

That's the thing, I'd have to find a new project - likely an external client, which means I'd have to change managers.

And getting into a new group probably wouldn't be the greatest idea right now huh?
