I've been re-watching Buffy...

Here are some random observations.

• I really, really hated watching Tara die. I feel like I got more attached to her this round and I dreaded her death scene :(
• I still thought Angel and Buffy were boring.
• I like Xander a bit more than  I used to.
• I like Buffy more than I used to.
• I really love season 4 Spike.

I have not been able to bring myself to rewatch Buffy yet. I'm hoping to someday, but Joss broke my heart so thoroughly, I just don't know when that will be. You'd think knowing what happens would make it easier, but...no.

I did like Buffy more in S7, but I think I'm with you. Didn't necessarily love Spike, and there were a lot of parts that really left me scratching my head as far as his character went.

I just feel like it was too close after the whole "you know what" happened in late season six. I'm not one of those people that thinks that he should never be forgiven for that, but it was just way too soon to feel sorry for him, and he comes off as a huge pity party (with over the top dramatics) in that episode. I also really hate that he hits Anya. Just rubs me the wrong way.

I think his character reaches a good place by the end of the season, but then of course they undo that by bringing him back in Angel (a decision I hugely disagree with).

Yeah, I actually put off the episode where Tara dies. I'd been plowing through, and then just took a week break before watching "Seeing Red."

some buffy re-runs have been on tv recently here.

i have realized i like them better when they were younger but by S6 i didn't like any of them as much as i used to. S6 the second time around, i didn't hate as much as i thought i did the first time around.

season 4 spike was great but i thought giving him that soul, although made for some cringe worthy moments, made things slightly more interesting.

and i ending up not liking Giles at all by S7 end. :( i really used to.

I still liked Giles...I just liked Buffy less. I feel like all she cared about was protecting Spike, which I thought was weird. Giles was trying to do what he thought was right, though I thought was a really bad decision on his part.
