I've been re-watching Buffy...

Here are some random observations.

• I really, really hated watching Tara die. I feel like I got more attached to her this round and I dreaded her death scene :(
• I still thought Angel and Buffy were boring.
• I like Xander a bit more than  I used to.
• I like Buffy more than I used to.
• I really love season 4 Spike.

Tara's death devastates me every time. I really, really love her. I remember when I was watching Buffy the first time through and she was introduced and I hated her. She wasn't Oz and I wasn't giving her a chance. But, my friend Dave told me (and it has stuck with me to this day), "Oh, you just wait. Tara is a gem. She really becomes the heart of the group." Yeah she does. She is now one of my very favorite Buffy characters.

Giles IS the bomb.

I'm with you on season four Spike. He's the bestest. Season 7 Spike doesn't totally put me off, though.

Not so much on Buffy or Xander. Maybe next time around.

It was really hard. I feel like there is no one they could have killed at that time that would hit harder. Everything is so messed up in season six, and Tara is like the rock. I also noticed her connection with Buffy more this time around. They have an interesting relationship. Buffy confides so much in her, so it was particularly poignant when Buffy is shot and you see her on the ground, and then the scene goes to Tara dying.

Also, Willow makes me cry so much. Anytime she cries I instantly cry.

Xander can be a real asshole, that is for sure. But he can also be so sweet. He is like two extremes in one.

I agree, her death was the worst possible thing for that time in the story line. So, of course Joss went there. That's why we love him.

I too have noticed the Buffy/Tara friendship and it makes me hate Buffy a TEEENSY bit less.

Xander for me is just kind of annoying. Not very bright... and I don't mean the goofball comedy stuff, I mean his short sighted-ness and tendency to judge.

Definitely not bright, and yes with the judging. That is his worst quality, to be sure.

I definitely agree with some of these:) Anya and Giles are perfection and Tara is love. Her death was harsh, even for Whedon:(

Season 4 Spike is awesome, isn't he?! He's tied with 'season 5 of Angel' Spike as my favorite version of the character.

I love season 4 Spike. I wish they could have kept that humor in his character throughout.
